Kiryat Gat is a city located in the southern district of Israel, with a population of approximately 52,000 people. It was founded in 1955 on the site of an ancient town and has since grown to become an industrial and commercial center. Kiryat Gat is known as the "Capital of the Negev" and is home to a number of high-tech companies, including Intel's largest research and development center outside of the United States. The city also has a growing arts and culture scene, with annual events such as the Kiryat Gat Festival featuring music, dance, and theater performances. Kiryat Gat is situated close to important historical and natural sites, including the ancient ruins of Tel Beer Sheva and the Nachal Ashan nature reserve.
